ODP Management Trainee

Reports To: Manager

Location: Olathe, KS

We are looking to offer a great development opportunity to high potential leaders who are passionate about the construction industry. In this role you will gain an in-depth understanding of various areas of our operations, enabling an accelerated path in your career within Summit. Our local Operating Companies will be able to provide local industry insight, share best practices, mentor and train you through day-to-day tasks including equipment operation and maintenance, QC/QA testing, and project management. The Operating Companies are committed to ensuring customer loyalty, you'll be able to see firsthand how these partnerships are formed, managed, and create our success in the field. Within this position, you are also offered opportunities to develop leadership skills and see how Summit has gained success. You will have opportunities to see multiple Operating Companies to gain additional knowledge through on site visits.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train through day-to-day tasks including equipment operation and maintenance, QC/QA testing, and project management.
  • Work closely with the team to determine solutions to common problems.
  • Learn the administrative requirements of the business through hands-on experience.
  • Adopt and adapt safety protocol, with direct exposure to OSHA and MSHA training.
  • Support basic operations and overall logistics.
  • Learn to operate quarry equipment, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have transportation to and from assigned quarry each day.
  • Must be willing to learn.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements and noise.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience preferred
