Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Department of Research, has an exciting full time opportunity for a Research Associate 1, SOM, in Miami, Florida. The role supports the Ocular Oncology Laboratory by performing general lab duties, maintaining databases, inventories, and mouse colonies under guidance of Dr. Zelia Correa.

The position includes core lab duties, data management, and participation in weekly lab meetings to present results and collaborate with the PI and team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
• Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
• Collects, prepares, analyzes, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
• Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
