Job description

Core Job Functions
  • Advance the research and educational missions of the University by enhancing ophthalmic research activities.
  • Provide leadership for research collaboration focused on AI research.
  • Collaborate with various departments across the university to foster interdisciplinary research and leverage resources and expertise.
  • Contribute to the excellence of the university’s clinical partner, UHealth, by conducting translational research that improves patient care and expands health services.
  • Contribute to the curriculum for medical students and other graduate programs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty, researchers, and students in ophthalmology.
  • Create a sustainable environment through research funding and philanthropy to support departmental growth.

Core Qualifications
  • Board certified or eligible for certification and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida (Florida Medical License or University Medical Certificate).
