This position is PRN, working 3 days a week.

Under the supervision of the PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for:

• Implementing physician orders, ensuring continuity and quality of nursing care, continually evaluating patient condition, and maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation, sterile techniques, as appropriate.
• Providing comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient and family needs for discharge.

Required Skills:

• Effective partnering and communication skills
• Ability to organize, follow through, and master new skills
• Thorough knowledge of peri-operative processes, surgical procedures, and anesthesia implications
• Current nursing assessment and patient care skills

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications
• Current RN licensure in Oklahoma

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year in Critical Care, PACU, Emergency, or ICU (preferred)

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Outpatient Surgery setting
• Ability to work on a computer, use a telephone, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical mobility activities such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
