POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The OCI Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the full migration of on-premise FDACS workloads-including Oracle databases, WebLogic middleware, and Solaris-hosted applications-into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The architect defines the OCI landing zone, network segmentation (VCNs, subnets, route tables), and secure access control aligned with CJIS and FDACS policy. The architect leads the selection and configuration of OCI services such as Compute, Block Storage, Autonomous DB, DB Systems (Bare Metal/VM), WAF, Vault, and FastConnect. They collaborate closely with Oracle DBAs, middleware engineers, and DevOps engineers to develop scalable, secure architectures that support redundancy, cost efficiency, and compliance.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
EXPERIENCE:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional (1Z0-997) certification required.
8+ years of enterprise IT architecture experience; 3+ years with OCI architecture and migration.
Strong understanding of Oracle DB (RAC, ASM, Data Guard), WebLogic, and Solaris OS.
Experience with hybrid network connectivity including OCI FastConnect, VPN, and cross-region HA.
Knowledge of Oracle and Access Management (IAM) and OCI Security Zones.
Experience in public sector or CJIS-governed environments .
Should be able to do automation using Terraform/Ansible or any other scripting tool
