Job summary

Lynker seeks a Marine Sensor Data Scientist – AI/ML to support NOAA SEFSC Fisheries Assessment. The role focuses on managing multidisciplinary marine sensor datasets and developing analytical models to improve science products. Field-related data collection and collaboration with NOAA teams are expected.

The ideal candidate has advanced ML expertise, Python/R skills, and cloud platforms experience, with strong communication and teamwork abilities. Travel for field activities may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required or 1 year of relevant research with undergrad.
• Ph.D. preferred for advanced modeling and deployment.
• Proficiency in ML methods and modern programming languages.
• Experience with data management and large datasets required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze marine sensor datasets across the SE US.
• Develop, train, test, and validate analytical models for AI/ML applications.
• Lead data curation and documentation in repositories and cloud storage.
• Coordinate with partners to optimize data collection and sensor configurations.
• Prepare datasets and metadata for archiving and compliance.
• Contribute to scientific proposals and reports and engage with stakeholders.
