Job summary

Sofar Ocean is seeking a science storyteller and brand activator to bridge ocean science with compelling narratives. You will craft data-driven concepts and lead campaigns across YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and other platforms for global visibility.

You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and designers to ensure accuracy and impact, and you will translate complex ocean data into engaging visuals and stories. This role requires fast turnarounds and comfort as a camera host when needed.

Qualifications

• Background in ocean science or maritime industry with strong creative instincts.
• Proven experience developing multimedia content bridging science and storytelling.
• Able to work on fast turnarounds and use AI tools to generate and iterate on content.

Responsibilities

• Develop original, science-driven content ideas for Spotter and Wayfinder audiences.
• Translate complex ocean data into engaging narratives for digital and live platforms.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and designers to ensure accuracy and visual storytelling.
• Move quickly when stories tie to storms, deployments, or news cycles.
• Lead partnerships and campaigns for global visibility and events.
• Review performance metrics and iterate content based on audience response.
