The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard to provide specialized rescue services at assigned public beaches and to protect lives by enforcing swimming regulations. The role operates independently with limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Minimum requirements include a HS diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver’s license, CPR and First Aid certifications, and the ability to pass swim/rescue tests.
The purpose of this position is to provide specialized ocean rescue service at assigned public beaches, protect lives and enforce swimming regulations. Responsible for maintaining safe swimming regulation, enforce established regulations, rescuing individuals who are in distress and administering first aid when necessary.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
