Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Inpatient Rehab Services. This full-time role operates on a weekend option schedule (Tuesday–Saturday) and provides 40 hours per week of therapeutic care to patients in need of rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification, and possesses or can obtain Florida OT licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an approved program in occupational therapy.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Florida OT license or temporary permit acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate patients and gather data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant others.
• Develop treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
• Document care and maintain accurate billing and compliance with department policies.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist, Weekend Option treats patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. This position is used primarily to supplement weekend staffing.

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree from an approved program in occupational therapy.

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable.

Essential Functions

Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy.
Ensures accurate billing.
Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
