Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapist (Weekend Optn) to provide services that restore function, improve mobility, and relieve pain. The role supports weekend staffing and aims to promote healthier, more active lifestyles for patients.

The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop and adjust treatment plans, ensure proper documentation, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Florida licensure and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an approved program.
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license; temporary permit acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, collects data from patient, physician, and team.
• Develops treatment plans with defined goals.
• Uses and maintains therapy equipment safely and explains its purpose.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plans as needed.
• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
• Maintains punctual attendance and compliance with policies.
• Supports performance improvement and safety initiatives.

A Brief Overview

Physical Therapist provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients with injuries or disease. The Physical Therapist works closely with patients and clients to restore, maintain, and promote their overall fitness and wellness for healthier and more active lifestyles. This position is used primarily to supplement weekend staffing.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.
• Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.
• Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.
• Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Maintain a cheerful atmosphere in which to treat. Demonstrates caring, honesty and open communication with all.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Participates in Performance Improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety and infection control, as required.
• Demonstrates an awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
• Instructs and supervises supportive personnel in their duties.
• The Physical Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned site.
• The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures.

• Maintains current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida- Temporary permit acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
