Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care in accordance with NYS OT Practice Act and hospital policy. You will evaluate, treat, and mentor staff such as COTAs and rehab aides as part of a collaborative clinical team.

Required BS in Occupational Therapy with NY State license and BLS; Masters preferred. This 8 AM–4 PM day shift is in the PMREHAB department, with a 7-hour scheduled daily workday.

Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Therapy required by NYS OT Practice Act and hospital policy.
• Masters degree preferred for advanced clinical practice and supervision.
• NY State OT license and registration required to practice.
• BLS certification required to provide safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including evaluation and treatment as outlined by NYS OT Practice Act and Hospital policy.
• Provides routine clinical mentoring to COTAs, Rehabilitation Aides/Senior Nursing Attendants, students and/or volunteers.
• Embraces the team concept of the department and the customer service approach to patient care.
