Occupational Therapy practitioners work with patients throughout the lifespan in identifying functional barriers associated with challenges of mental illness and support in development of improved capacities to manage symptoms through occupational engagement. Staff use standardized assessments of cognition, sensory processing and modulation, and functional performance in addition to task analysis to inform treatment plans and provide social skills, sensory coping, and life skills training according to needs and level of functioning of the individual served.
