Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is offering a part-time occupational therapy assistant role. Under supervision of the OT, you will provide services to improve motor function and daily living skills, with education for patients and caregivers.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in an accredited therapy assistant program and COTA certification upon hire, with BLS either by AHA or ARC within 90 days. A Michigan driver's license is required for site duties.

Qualifications

• MI driver's license and eligibility for home care duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Help patients improve basic motor functions and daily living tasks.
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment plans and safety.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients to assist in improving basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. May provide treatment to patients/clients with cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction and physical disability. Assists with patient/clients and caregiver education.

Standard Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree accredited therapy assistant program
• Therapy assistance experience Preferred
• Experience in neurological injury, TBI, and Spinal Cord injury (based on Spectrum Health entity) Preferred
• CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Care Business Lines
