Summary of Job Duties: We seek a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at PACE of the Ozarks. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care to geriatric patients, monitoring progress, and supporting UAMS’s mission to improve health and healthcare in Arkansas. The OTA will work under supervision, following regulations by the Arkansas State Board of Occupational Therapy, as well as state and federal laws, and agency policies.

This position is located in Northwest Arkansas, supporting patient care at PACE of the Ozarks and other locations as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Two (2) years of COTA experience
  • Certified by the NBCOT or eligible to apply and obtain a license within one month of hire
  • Licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board as an Occupational Therapist Assistant

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong background in treatment of neurologic disorders
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to geriatric patients
  • Effective interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Knowledge of Arkansas State Board regulations and agency policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation
  • Ability to adapt treatment plans as needed

Preferred qualifications:

  • Additional relevant qualifications such as more years of experience, bilingual abilities, certifications, and current Arkansas license

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessments and treatments for fine motor, visual perceptual, sensory processing, and other skills, under supervision
  • Documents progress and collaborates with team members
  • Performs VA home treatments and other duties as assigned
