Overview

Occupational Therapy Assistant Instructor - Full Time position, offering flexible working hours

Instructors' primary responsibilities are to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings, act as professional and academic role models, and commit to student satisfaction. This includes teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings, as well as outside the classroom during campus and student activities. Responsibilities
Instructional Duties
  • Instruct classes as assigned
  • Prepare for classes by organizing and familiarizing with student material
  • Prepare lesson plans and course materials as required
  • Objectively assess students' academic performance
  • Organize and present subject matter effectively
  • Utilize instructional plans and supplement approved student material as needed
  • Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
  • Utilize and monitor learning management systems
  • Conduct classes for the required duration
Student Interaction
  • Maintain a conducive learning environment
  • Set professional example and conduct
  • Provide regular feedback on performance, grades, conduct, and attendance
  • Inform Program Director of any attendance, academic, or behavioral issues
  • Maintain accurate student records
  • Ensure compliance with attendance policies
  • Facilitate tutoring and makeup work
  • Refer students to Program Director or Academic Dean as necessary
  • Remain in classrooms for all instructional times
  • Enforce campus policies
Outside Classroom Duties
  • Record keeping, participate in faculty development, assist with campus activities, and maintain classroom order
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (COTA preferred)
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting
  • Four years of related practical experience in OT or OTA
  • Current, unencumbered license and certification in applicable state
  • Knowledgeable in course content and effective in student evaluation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior teaching experience preferred

  • Good judgment, problem-solving, discretion, and ability to work under deadlines
