Job description


GENERAL SUMMARY:


Under the general supervision of an Occupational Therapist:



  • The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) assists and monitors patients' rehabilitative activities and exercises as outlined in the treatment plan developed in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist.




EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate's Degree acquired from an Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) accredited program.


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:



  • Current State of Michigan licensure. Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).

  • Successful completion of FIM certification exam with a score of at least 80% within 90 days of hire and then annually thereafter in accordance with the department's annual certification schedule (this may mean successful passage twice during their first employment year).
