Job summary

Northern Metropolitan Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Monsey, New York is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work per diem in a skilled nursing facility. The OTA/COTA will assist in carrying out the plan of care and support residents in daily activities while collaborating with the supervising OT.

Licensed in New York or actively pursuing licensure, you will join a team dedicated to helping patients regain independence in a state-of-the-art rehab gym.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.

Education
