Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Bath, NY is recruiting a weekend Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a team of compassionate therapists in a state-of-the-art rehab gym. The role supports residents with daily activities, follows the plan of care set by the supervising OT, and contributes to ongoing rehabilitation goals.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited OTA program with an active NY license and a collaborative mindset to coordinate with the OT and broader healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited OTA program.
• Must hold an active NY OTA license.
• Experience collaborating with an OT team is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities according to the supervising occupational therapist's plan of care.
• Assist residents with daily activities.
• Monitor residents' progress, provide encouragement and document outcomes.
• Teach residents how to use assistive equipment for daily function.
• Collaborate with OT to establish rehabilitation plans.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
