Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in the Ontario Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Canandaigua, NY. The OTA/COTA will join a team of rehab professionals providing state-of-the-art therapy services in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities following the plan of care.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor and document residents' performance in therapy activities.
• Teach residents to use equipment to aid daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship within the healthcare team.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
