Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in New York, NY is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensed in New York or actively pursuing licensure. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Join our rehab team to help residents regain independence in a state-of-the-art gym. Responsibilities include selecting therapy activities per plan of care, assisting with daily tasks, monitoring progress, teaching use of equipment, and collaborating with the OT to establish a rehab plan in line with AOTA

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA Program.
• Current New York State OTA License or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members.
• Follow evidence-based practices per American Occupational Therapy Association standards.

Amsterdam Nursing Home, located in New York, New York is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is currently licensed in New York or is a graduate from an approved Occupational Therapy program and is actively working toward obtaining licensure.
