Job summary

Legacy Healthcare in Iowa is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our skilled nursing team. You will support the OT in designing and delivering customized therapy programs to help residents perform daily activities independently and safely.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in OTAS and an unencumbered Iowa COTA certificate; one year of OT experience is preferred, but we are open to investing in the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate degree from an accredited OT assistant program.
• Unencumbered Iowa COTA certificate required.
• One year of OT experience preferred but training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in the design, implementation, and delivery of customized occupational therapy programs.
• Help residents safely perform daily activities and maintain independence.
• Provide support to the Therapy Department to ensure high standards of care.

As a COTA you are the front line of the Therapy Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect atLegacy Healthcareby assisting the Occupational Therapist with the design, implementation, and delivery of customized occupational therapy programs to assist residents independently carry out everyday tasks. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and an unencumbered State ofIowaCOTA certificate. One (1) year of experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
