Job Description:

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Conducts occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Communicates effectively and collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete components of patient evaluations as permitted by PA State Practice Act; provide occupational therapy interventions based on the plan of care written by an occupational therapist, utilizing standard and specialized techniques suitable for the patient’s age and condition.
  • Document all activities to comply with departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives for operational improvement, including mentoring new COTAs and participating in committees and educational programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Current driver’s license may be required.
  • Certification as a COTA from NBCOT.
