Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant I to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. You will participate in therapy sessions for a range of patients and support treatment plans and documentation.

Qualified applicants have OTA program credentials, NBCOT eligibility/registration, CA OTA license or license within 90 days, and CPR certification. No experience required; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited jointly by the CMA and AOTA (AOTA).
• Registered or eligible for registration as an OTA by NBCOT and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
• Current California OTA license, or must receive license within 90 days of hire.
• CPR certification is required.

The primary responsibility of the Occupational Therapy Assistant I is to provide direct patient care under the direction of a qualified occupational therapist upon physician referral.

Required Skills

• Ability to perform patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics.
• Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses who may be infants, children, adults or older adults.
• Basic splinting skills.
• Basic Windows and mouse skills preferred.

Required Experience

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Registered or eligible for registration as an occupational therapy assistant by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
• Current California occupational therapy assistant license, or be a license applicant and must receive license within 90 days.
• CPR certification
• No experience required.
