Job summary

CO1000 H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute Hospital, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support inpatient oncology patients under an OT, contributing to treatment plans and interdisciplinary care.

You will assist with therapy sessions, monitor responses, document care in the EMR, and participate in education and supervision activities that support clinical advancement within the department.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in occupational therapy assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; one year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, assist with planning and providing treatment to patients in accordance with established OT practice and standards of care.
• Monitors and responds to the patient's response to treatment and adjusts as appropriate.
• Determines the need for assessment and reports any changes to the supervising therapist.
• Collaborates and communicates with the interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and discharge planning.
• Documents daily treatment sessions accurately and thoroughly in the EMR and billing charges.
• Completes charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines with no more than 2 revenue billing errors per month.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, assists patients in treatment programs for individual patients according to the principle and practices of occupational therapy. Provides care for inpatient oncology caseload. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the needs of the patient. Position includes opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns, and execution of departmental education efforts, etc. which will contribute to advancement in a clinical ladder.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's degree in occupational therapy assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Occupational Therapy Assistant License
• Our ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's Degree One year of clinical experience preferred

Job Specific Duties

• Completes documentation on each treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges
• Documents daily treatment sessions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record following current documentation standards of the department
• Accurately completes charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines with no more than 2 revenue billing errors per month

$26.32 - $40.14 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
