Job summary

Bay Park Post-Acute and Rehab in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our post-acute care team. The position is full-time and located in our Sarasota facility.

You will conduct screenings and evaluations, develop care plans, provide medically necessary interventions, and generate discharge summaries while complying with regulatory and clinical standards. New grads are welcome; licensure as OTA is required.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
• Open to COTAs at all experience levels. New Grads are welcome!

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care; develop care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Role involves regular standing and walking; occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment.
• Administer procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring regulatory and clinical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
