Job summary

BeFit Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team at two ALFs in St. Petersburg. Working under the supervision of a licensed OT, you will provide therapeutic services to help residents improve daily living activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida COTA license and has experience in SNF/ALF or home health settings. You will lead exercises, educate patients and families, and document progress to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida COTA license required.
• Experience in skilled nursing facility, ALF, or home health preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology essential.
• Ability to perform discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct patient care guiding patients through therapeutic exercises.
• Monitor patient progress and document changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and strategies for daily living.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care per regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Job Overview

Skills

• Experience in acute care, outpatient, inpatient, clinic, or home health settings is highly desirable.
• Proficient in assisting patients with various therapeutic exercises and activities.

• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements

• Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of Florida.
