Award Care at Big Bend is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated team. The OTA will assist in planning and evaluating treatment plans to help residents achieve their highest level of independence.

The ideal candidate will have an OTA program completion, a current COTA, and excellent communication skills to work with residents, families, and staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant required
  • Completion of an accredited OTA program
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification required
  • Minimum of 0 years of experience; new graduates welcome
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with focus on resident care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, and staff
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for residents

Responsibilities

  • Assist occupational therapists in planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans for residents.
  • Conduct assessments and interventions to improve daily living, mobility, and cognitive function.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address residents' needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with the OT team for coordinated care.
  • Provide education and support to residents, families, and staff on OT techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to promote resident outcomes and staff development.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist occupational therapists in planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans for residents with physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and interventions to improve residents' daily living skills, mobility, and cognitive function

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address residents' specific needs and goals

  • Collaborate with the occupational therapy team to ensure seamless transitions and coordinated care

  • Provide education and support to residents, families, and healthcare staff on occupational therapy techniques and strategies

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to promote optimal resident outcomes and staff development

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant required

  • Completion of an accredited OTA program

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification required

  • Minimum of 0 years of experience in occupational therapy or a related field (new graduates welcome to apply)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a focus on providing exceptional resident care
