Job summary

Blue Stone Therapy in Omaha, NE is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a new skilled nursing partnership. You will deliver patient-centered care under an OT, helping establish a strong therapy program from day one.

This role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional growth in a supportive setting with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Nebraska COTA license or eligibility for licensure.
• Strong clinical and patient care abilities.
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of a licensed OT.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans to improve independence in daily activities.
• Help patients regain skills for independence in everyday activities.
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and equipment.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising OT.
• Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
• Complete timely documentation in accordance with standards.
• Contribute to building a new therapy program through teamwork and care.

What You'll Do

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Carry out individualized treatment plans to improve independence with daily activities, functional mobility, strength, coordination, and safety
• Help patients develop or regain skills needed to participate as independently as possible in everyday activities
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on adaptive strategies, equipment, and techniques to support independence and safety
• Monitor and communicate patient progress, response to treatment, and changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
• Contribute to the development and success of a new therapy program through teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in Nebraska
