Flagship Therapy in Abilene, TX is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house rehab program at Wisteria Place. The role involves collaboration with a dedicated team to deliver rehabilitative treatments for geriatric patients across post-acute care settings.

You will screen and evaluate patients, develop and implement care plans, and contribute to discharge summaries while adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• OTA license required.
• Open to Occupational Therapy Assistants at all experience levels.
• New Grads are welcome!

Responsibilities

• Screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and wound care, developing care plans.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions.
• Regular standing and walking; occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients/equipment.
• Administer procedures as part of rehab plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, exercises, modalities, devices, wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Generate discharge summaries ensuring regulatory and clinical compliance.

Wisteria Place in Abilene, TX is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking a dedicated Full Time Occupational Therapy Assistant for our in-house rehab program!

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
