Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Master of Occupational Therapy program, with in-person instruction on campus or at regional sites as needed.

The successful candidate will grade and assess student work, participate in curriculum development, and collaborate with colleagues to advance OT education and service within FGCU and the surrounding community.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD/PhD) or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Licensed occupational therapist in Florida.
  • Academic doctorate and board certification preferred.

Job Summary

Assignments will include teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Teach in ACOTE-accredited Master of Occupational Therapy program, which may include classroom and lab instruction in traditional, in-person format.
  • Performs grading and testing.
Other Duties:
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD/PhD) or related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
  • Licensed occupational therapist in the State of Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation, board certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy content expertise.
  • Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
  • Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
  • Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
  • Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals.
