Job summary

Trinity Healthcare Talent Services, LLC is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our 102-bed skilled nursing center in Newport News, VA. This full-time role offers 35 hours per week with a competitive hourly wage of $39–$40.

You will evaluate patients, plan and implement therapy, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate records in compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• 1–2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine their individual needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic activities to improve patients' functional abilities and independence.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Provide education and training to patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to support their daily activities.
• Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in occupational therapy and incorporate them into practice.
