Job summary

Theradynamics in New York is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) for full-time or contract roles. You will deliver preventive services to help clients stay at home and avoid nursing home care.

You will assess needs, plan, modify interventions, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team while educating patients and families on OT programs. NY state license is required; new grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Valid NY State OT license.
• New grads are encouraged to apply.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive services to help individuals stay in their homes and out of nursing home care.
• Assess, plan, evaluate, and modify OT interventions to meet goals.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to plan and evaluate goals.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on OT programs.
• Advise the multi-disciplinary team on OT modalities.
• Observe and report patient progress to physicians and team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Occupational Therapist Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide preventive services allowing individuals to stay in their homes and out of nursing home care.
• Assessing patient needs, planning for, evaluating, and modifying care to meet goals of Occupational Therapy Interventions
• Collaborating with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient
• Instructing patient/family/caregivers on patient's total occupational therapy program
• Advising, consulting, and instructing members of the multi-disciplinary team in specific occupational therapy modalities
• Observing and reporting patient progress and/or changes in patient status to Physician and appropriate multi-disciplinary team members
• Other duties as assigned

Occupational Therapist Job Requirements:

• Master's Degree from an accredited occupational therapy school
• Good organizational skills
• Good written skills
• Valid NY State OT license
• New grads encouraged to apply
