This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. The school-based Certified Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) directs and provides occupational therapy services to students ages birth–21 in the Salida School District to help students benefit from special education. Job related activities include screenings collaboration, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) implementation, supervises the work of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant as well as provides some direct and indirect therapeutic services.
Education: Master’s Degree
Licensure: Educator licensing issued by the Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider Endorsement: School Occupational Therapist
Current Certification from the National Board for the Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or equivalent
Heavy lifting; frequent travel required between buildings; provide direct services to students with disabilities, may assist students in feeding, ambulation, toileting (including diaper changing), and other self-help needs; management and de-escalation of students with aggressive behaviors
