Job summary

The Palace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide resident-centered therapy within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. You’ll design and implement personalized treatment plans, conduct screenings and evaluations, and manage discharge planning in alignment with professional standards.

You will supervise assistants, engage in case management, and ensure compliance with regulations while pursuing ongoing professional development to enhance therapy

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Valid state Occupational Therapist license, where applicable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation.
• Optimize patient functionality by providing, directing, and/or overseeing occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, and treatment.
• Comply with state and federal guidelines related to accurate and timely documentation and billing.
• Establish and maintain effective, patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary team members, and facility staff.
• Refer patients for treatment to occupational therapy assistants and provide consultation and clinical supervision.
• Directly supervise occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Participate in utilization review, care conferences, case management, and interdisciplinary team activities.
• Develop and enhance occupational therapy programs, techniques, and services to support quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and patient rights policies.
• Enhance clinical expertise through continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain valid state licensure.
• Understand and apply relevant payment models and treatment guidelines.Maintain confidentiality of organizational, facility, and patient information.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical, legal, and professional manner at all times.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
