Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks an Occupational Therapist to support rehabilitation efforts and work within the care continuum. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and families on health information, treatment, and prevention.

The role includes discharge planning and collaboration with the department on documentation, billing, and PHI compliance as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
• Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
• Initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
• Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
