Memorial Health System of Southwest Oklahoma seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and planning therapy plans, directing modalities, and helping patients reach maximum functioning. The role involves supervising COTAs, aides, and students while contributing to PI activities and safety programs.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. or M.O.T. in OT, is Oklahoma-licensed (or eligible with a temp license), and NBCOT-certified or eligible, with preferred experience in disability settings.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Occupational Therapy (B.S. or M.O.T.).
• Licensed and in good standing in Oklahoma or eligible with temporary license.
• NBCOT certification either current or eligible for certification.

DEFINITION:

Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff, to include COTAs, Aides, and students. The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs. Patients cared for or interacted with are infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric.

EDUCATION:

Must have a minimum of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy or Masters Occupational Therapy Degree.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):

Must be currently licensed and in good standing in the State of Oklahoma or be licensed eligible with a temporary letter to practice granted. Must be currently certified by the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or not eligible for NBCOT.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Affiliation experience or employment experience in two physical disability setting is preferred.
