Job summary

Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lees Summit, MO is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team. The OT evaluates and treats clients after injury or disease, addressing physical, emotional and environmental needs to restore daily living skills.

Shift will be 8:00-4:30 on weekdays and 7:30-4:00 on weekends; two weekend shifts and two minor holidays are required. You will supervise students and OT assistants, participate in discharge planning, and maintain timely documentation.

Qualifications

• MO OT license required.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1 year occupational therapy experience (minimum)
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates clients after impairment, injury, or disease and develops an individualized treatment plan.
• Re-evaluates progress and contributes to discharge planning.
• Supervises students and occupational therapy assistants.
• Performs timely documentation per policy and insurance requirements; maintains safety and quality standards.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team care interventions and delegates tasks as appropriate.

The OT addresses physical, emotional, and environmental needs. The OT advises on adaptive equipment and techniques to help clients resume or develop skills needed for day-to-day life and work. The goal of OT is to improve or maintain the client’s ability to perform activities of daily living and reach goals to return to highest level of functional independence.* Shift will be 8:00-4:30 during the week and 7:30-4:00 on weekends. Must work 2 weekend shifts a month as well as provide weekday availability.
