Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist (OTR) to evaluate, treat, educate, and plan rehabilitation for patients with physical, cognitive, psychosocial, or developmental needs. The role may require travel between facilities to deliver services.

The candidate must hold Texas licensure as an Occupational Therapist, have clinical experience, and may benefit from belonging to a professional organization. Compliance with the company Code of Conduct is required.

• Coordinate with care teams and other providers; may travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

Staff Occupational Therapist (OTR) is responsible for evaluation/assessment, treatment, education, planning, utilization of exercises including administering occupational therapy modalities, treatment, and rehabilitative procedures for individuals limited by physical injury or illness, a dysfunctional condition, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, a developmental or learning disability whether due to trauma, illness, or condition present at birth. Some travel may be required in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary contains the most relevant duties, responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Required to travel as needed
2. Membership in professional organization preferred
3. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. Bachelors degree required, Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy perferred.
2. Current Licensure in the State of Texas as Occupational Therapist required.
3. Clinical experience preferred
4. Must have and maintain current BLCS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
