Qualifications

• Licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification preferred where applicable.
• BLS for health care providers required or within first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments.
• Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
• Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities and develop therapy goals.
• Document client information for evaluation and establish/modify therapeutic plans.
• Educate clients to improve understanding and functional outcomes.
• Follow department guidelines and regulatory requirements and demonstrate current best practices.
• May supervise assistants, aides or students and provide ongoing education to peers.
