Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking an Occupational Therapist on a PRN basis to assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that build residents' daily living skills and independence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Missouri State license.
• Long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and evaluate residents’ physical and mental abilities to determine rehabilitation goals.
• Evaluate residents’ progress and prepare reports detailing progress.
• Select activities to help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their capabilities.
• Recommend changes in residents’ work or living environments, aligned with their needs.
• Consult with rehabilitation team to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapies.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Test and evaluate residents’ physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for residents


• Evaluate resident’s progress and prepare reports that detail progress


• Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their mental or physical capabilities


• Recommend changes in residents’ work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities


• Consult with rehabilitation team to select activity programs or coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities

Requirements:

• Master's degreein Occupational Therapy


• Current Missouri State license


• Long-term care experience preferred
