Job summary

La Crescenta Healthcare Center in California is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat residents and patients with conditions that impact daily living and work activities, in line with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

You will develop care plans, educate residents and families on adaptive equipment, maintain precise records, and collaborate with the care team to deliver patient-centered therapies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
• Current OT license (if required by state).
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• State approved certification to provide advanced level treatments where applicable.

SUMMARY

Evaluates and treats residents and patients with conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling to improve their ability to perform tasks of daily living and working environments in compliance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Screens, evaluates resident/ patient and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, splints, and aids for eating and dressing.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
• Current license in Occupational Therapy (if required by state law).
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• State approved certification to provide advanced level treatments where applicable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs, or provisional licensed occupational therapists per state practice guidelines.
