Job summary

Autumn Hills Healthcare Center in Glendale, CA seeks an licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat residents and patients to improve daily living activities and work-related abilities in line with federal and state guidelines.

You will conduct assessments, develop and monitor care plans, teach patients and families to use adaptive equipment, and maintain accurate medical records while complying with privacy and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
• Current Occupational Therapy license (state requirements may apply).
• 1 year clinical experience preferred.
• State-approved certification for advanced level treatments where applicable.

SUMMARY

Evaluates and treats residents and patients with conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling to improve their ability to perform tasks of daily living and working environments in compliance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Screens, evaluates resident/ patient and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, splints, and aids for eating and dressing.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provides adaptive tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
• Current license in Occupational Therapy (if required by state law).
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• State approved certification to provide advanced level treatments where applicable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs, or provisional licensed occupational therapists per state practice guidelines.
