Job summary

SportsCare Physical Therapy in Cedar Knolls, NJ is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a part-time role. The position entails evaluating pediatric patients, developing evidence-based plans, and delivering engaging therapy in a child-centered setting.

Applicants should have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy and an active New Jersey OT license, with strong communication and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current or eligible Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate pediatric patients to identify developmental, sensory, motor, fine-motor, visual-motor, and functional needs.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care based on each child's strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Provide engaging, age-appropriate occupational therapy interventions in a supportive and child-centered environment.
  • Address functional skills including fine-motor coordination, handwriting, visual-motor integration, activities of daily living, feeding-related skills as appropriate, and participation in age-appropriate activities.
  • Incorporate sensory-based strategies and therapeutic activities when clinically appropriate.
  • Educate and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and families to promote carryover of skills outside of therapy.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, teachers, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Track patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings and functional outcomes.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge information using our EMR and AI-assisted documentation tools.
  • Foster positive, trusting relationships with children, families, teammates, and referral partners.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative clinic culture.
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing learning to enhance pediatric clinical skills.
