Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking an outpatient Occupational Therapist to provide services at the FirstPark-Oakland and Enterprise Drive clinics in Augusta. You will develop and implement treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, surgery, or disease, with a strong emphasis on orthopedic and hand therapy.

LSVT and lymphedema training are a bonus. The role includes patient education, discharge planning, and supervising assistants, with a 40-hour workweek and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

  • OT licensed and eligible to practice.
  • Outpatient setting experience preferred, with orthopedic/hand therapy focus.
  • LSVT and Lymphedema training a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient ability to safely perform occupational tasks and develop plan of care.
  • Implement and document treatment progress and modify plan as needed.
  • Educate patient and family; discharge planning; equipment recommendations.
  • Supervise assistants/therapy technicians per licensing laws.

Job Summary:Provides outpatient occupational therapy services at FirstPark-Oakland and Enterprise Drive - Augusta clinics to patients needing to develop, recover, and maintain function and activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living after injury, surgery or disease process. Strong orthopedic and hand therapist experience needed to be part of and support hand specialty patients. LSVT and Lymphedema training a bonus.Job Description:Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents subjective, and objective, findings of patient progress, and assessment findings and plan. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.Educates and counsels the patient and family/caregiver. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.Compensation Information:$34.15 - $59.76 USD HourlyThe salary range shown reflects the base salary for this position.
