Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient
Job Location: Lincoln
Immediate Supervisor: Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisor
Status: Hourly

Job Overview

Responsible for planning and administering occupational therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Deliver quality patient care from admission through discharge including patient and family education/training as well as outcomes assessment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation including monitoring visit utilization and insurance authorization. Responsible for designing and constructing special equipment, orthotics or casts for patients, and suggesting adaptations of patient's living-work environment.

Essential Functions
  • Select, administer and interpret evaluation procedures for patients.
  • Compile, record and analyze evaluation information to assist in establishing a treatment program.
  • Identify problems, formulate treatment goals, and coordinate patient treatment plans.
  • Document patient information to meet legal and ethical standards, including daily charting, summaries, and care plans.
  • Record treatment charges and billing for equipment and supplies.
  • Analyze and revise treatment programs for continued appropriateness.
  • Modify interventions based on patient age and needs.
  • Complete outcomes assessments accurately.
  • Ensure quality documentation through chart audits.
  • Instruct patients and families in activities and exercises for follow-up.
  • Assist with equipment recommendations, fitting, and modifications.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions and disease processes.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Assist with staff orientation and provide guidance to new team members.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
  • Medium work with frequent lifting.
  • Assist with transfers and wheelchair pushes, requiring significant strength.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and reaching, with periods up to an hour.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in occupational therapy, or eligibility for certification.
  • Current Nebraska licensure or pending licensure.
  • Licensure for physical agent modalities or obtain within 6 months.
  • CPR certification required at hire or within 30 days.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record if driving is required.
