Job summary

Pivot Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to serve several sites, including Bonne Vie- Port Arthur, Magnolia Manor- Groves, Oakwood Manor- Vidor and Mill Creek- Silsbee. Duties include screening, evaluating and treating patients, and developing treatment plans to maximize independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive evaluations using appropriate tools and procedures.
• Reviews patient records for diagnoses and history.

Essential Functions:

• Screens, evaluates, and treats patients
• Completes a comprehensive evaluation using appropriate evaluation and assessment tools and procedures
• Reviews patient records for current diagnoses, past medical history, precautions and contraindications
• Establishes measurable goals and develops treatment plan to move the patient toward his or her maximum level of independence and/or function
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants and rehab techs in direct patient care and patient-related activities in accordance with state practice act
• Interprets and communicates evaluation findings and treatment program to patients, family, and other team members

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice
• Must have good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patients’ family members, and staff
• Must be capable of performing the responsibilities of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations
