Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital - Madison, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation in Madison, MS. This PRN role emphasizes essential hands-on care, documentation, and family education to support patient recovery.

You will assess, treat, educate, and discharge planning while supervising therapy staff and ensuring compliance with licensure and professional standards. Experience in inpatient settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• State licensure in occupational therapy.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills and designs the plan of care.
• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
• Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed; seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family about deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting; advises on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws and standards.

How you’ll contribute

• Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
• Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Required
• State Licensure for Occupational Therapy
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
