Job summary

NHC HomeCare Anderson is seeking an Occupational Therapist to supervise and conduct occupational therapy services for patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or diseases. The OT will coordinate and deliver therapy as ordered by the physician, delegating parts of the program to the licensed OTA and instructing staff on precautions and progress goals.

Ideal candidates are licensed/registered in the state of practice with an accredited OT program and membership in relevant OT associations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program certified by the AOTA.
• Licensed or registered to practice in the state where the therapist will work.
• Active membership in state and national OT associations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and supervising occupational therapy services.
• Providing occupational therapy services as ordered by the referring physician and delegating appropriate portions of the treatment program to the licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Instructing OT staff in delegated functions, including precautions, special problems, contraindications, anticipated progress goals, and plans for re-evaluation.
• Evaluating, planning, and supervising treatments and programs, establishing short-term and long-term goals for patients as approved by the physician with periodic re-evaluations.
• Maintaining patient care records per HomeCare agency requirements, ensuring third-party reimbursement qualifications and all state/federal requirements are met.
• Consulting with family members, physicians, and other health care professionals as appropriate.
