Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Troy, New York. The role offers mentorship, flexible schedules, and opportunities to train new grads while providing high-quality rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, developing rehabilitation plans, supervising assistants, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Evening/weekend hours may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current New York State OT license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ conditions and develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans.
• Relieve residents’ pain using exercises, hands-on therapy and stretching.
• Help residents through their tasks and monitor their performance.
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants.
• Maintain resident confidence and protect facility by keeping information confidential.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Evaluate residents’ conditions & develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans
