Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The position supports a team of therapists at the Troy Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Troy, NY, with opportunities to mentor and grow clinically.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, designing rehabilitation plans, and supervising assistants, while maintaining confidentiality and complying with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Current New York State OT License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' conditions and develop appropriate rehabilitation plans.
• Relieve residents' pain using exercises, hands-on therapy and stretching.
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants and monitor progress.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to support resident recovery.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Evaluate residents' conditions & develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans
• Relieve resident's pain using exercises, hands-on therapy & stretching
• Help residents through their tasks and monitor their performance
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants
• Maintain resident confidence & protects facility by keeping information confidential
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members &contributes to team effort

OT Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
• Current New York State OT License
